1. Top Gun: Maverick (2022)

Blog Post

Director:Joseph Kosinski

Cast:Tom Cruise, Jennifer Connelly, Miles Teller, Val Kilmer

Genre: Action, Drama

My Take:

Top Gun: Maverick is a spectacular cinematic experience that is truly best appreciated on the big screen. The film follows the story of Captain Maverick, a U.S. Navy test pilot who returns to TOPGUN as an instructor, tasked with training a new generation of elite pilots, including the son of his deceased best friend. As Maverick confronts his past and his deepest fears, the film delivers an adrenaline-fueled ride full of pulse-pounding action sequences and thrilling aerial maneuvers.

The film's visuals are breathtaking, thanks to IMAX cameras and minimal CGI, with the sun as the only light source. Director Joseph Kosinski, known for his work on films like Oblivion and Tron: Legacy, once again teams up with Tom Cruise to deliver a technical masterpiece that is both visually stunning and emotionally gripping.

Cruise's years of experience mastering fighter jets and helicopters for his films and his passion for the material are evident in every frame of the film. His dedication to authenticity extends to the rest of the cast, who underwent extensive training, including a three-month aviation course, in order to handle the demands of flying in an F-18 and performing aerobatics.

Top Gun: Maverick is a nostalgic and thrilling film that delivers all the high-flying action and exhilarating aerial maneuvers that fans of the original movie have come to expect while also delivering a deep and character-driven story that is both emotionally engaging and technically masterful. Top Gun: Maverick is worth a trip to the theaters if you're looking for an adrenaline-busting cinematic experience.

2. The Batman (2022)

Blog Post

Director: Matt Reeves

Cast: Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz, Jeffrey Wright, Colin Farrell

Genre: Action, Crime, Drama

My Take:

The Batman (2022) is a darkly beautiful and thrilling film that immerses audiences in the world of the iconic comic book hero. The film tells the story of a young Bruce Wayne, who is still early in his journey to becoming the Dark Knight. The film is a slow burn, taking its time to build the story and the characters, but it pays off with a thrilling experience. The film is directed by Matt Reeves, known for his work on the Planet of the Apes trilogy and Cloverfield.

The film's direction is nothing short of spectacular. It perfectly captures the gritty, neo-noir atmosphere of the comics, and the visuals are genuinely breathtaking. The costume design and production design are top-notch, creating a Gotham City that feels both familiar and fresh. The film's cinematography is also noteworthy, with many darkly beautiful scenes and very moody.

Our scars can destroy us, even after the physical wounds have healed. But if we survive them, they can transform us. They can give us the power to endure, and the strength to fight.

The film's cast is also impressive, with many noteworthy performances. Robert Pattinson, who plays the titular role, brings a brooding intensity to the role that is both captivating and authentic. He delivers a performance that feels both true to the comics and fresh at the same time. The supporting cast is also strong, with standout performances from Zo Kravitz as Catwoman and Paul Dano as the Riddler.

The film's script is also a standout. The mystery element is particularly well done, with many twists and turns that will keep audiences guessing. The script does a great job of exploring Bruce Wayne's motivations for becoming Batman and the themes of justice and redemption that are at the heart of the character.

The Batman (2022) is a truly incredible film that manages to capture the darkly beautiful, mysterious, and noir-ish elements of the comics while also being a slow-burn mystery. The film showcases a high level of craftsmanship across all departments and is a must-watch for fans of the character and the genre. The film is also planned to be a part of a trilogy that centers around the early days of Batman's crime-fighting career.

3. Thirteen lives (2022)

Blog Post

Director:Ron Howard
Cast: Viggo Mortensen, Colin Farrell, Joel Edgerton
Genre: Action, Adventure, Biography

My Take:

Ron Howard's Thirteen Lives is a powerful and well-crafted film that offers a gripping look at the incredible true story of the Thai cave rescue. On June 23, 2018, twelve boys of the junior football team and their assistant coach walked into the Tham Luang cave; not knowing the heavy rainfall ahead, they were soon trapped in a life-or-death situation. Soon Thailand's navy seal, voluntary cave divers from around the world, and the people of Pong Pha village join hands to rescue the kids from the flooded cave.

The film excels for its accuracy and attention to detail, effectively recreating real-life events with stunning precision. Howard's direction is masterful, capturing the tension and emotion of the situation in a way that feels both immediate and authentic.

One of the film's greatest strengths is its production design. The sets and locations used in the film are meticulously crafted to match the real-life locations, immersing the viewer in the story and making it feel like a documentary film.

Howard's direction for the operation is equally commendable. One can see the influences of Howard's previous films, like Apollo 13 and A Beautiful Mind, in his direction and storytelling here as well. He has the ability to capture the tension and emotion of real-life events and to tell the story in a way that is both dramatic and authentic.

Thirteen Lives is a must-watch film that offers a gripping and emotional look at one of the most incredible rescue stories of recent times. With masterful direction, stunning production design, and outstanding performances, it is a testament to the power of human resilience and the triumph of the human spirit.

"Everything Everywhere All at Once" takes the audience on a mesmerizing journey through multiple narratives and dimensions. 5. The Banshees of Inisherin (2022)

Blog Post

Director: Martin McDonagh

Cast: Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Kerry Condon

Genre: Comedy, Drama

My Take:

What a tremendous year for Colin Farrell, first Batman film, then the Thirteen lives movie, and now The Banshees of Inisherin. In all the films, Colin Farrell delivered incredible performances, and his choices of diverse, complex roles showcase his range as an actor.

"The Banshees of Inisherin" is a truly unique film that is both darkly humorous and emotionally impactful. Written and directed by Martin McDonagh, the film reunites Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson, who previously starred together in McDonagh's debut film, "In Bruges".

The film opens with Padraic (Colin Farrell), a gentle-natured dairy farmer, visiting his best friend Colm (Brendan Gleeson), a pensive older musician, but to his surprise and confusion, Colm refuses to open the door or explain why. This unexpected turn sets the tone for the rest of the film, as the audience is taken on a journey of friendship, loneliness and mortality.

Some things there is no moving on from. And I think thats a good thing.

McDonagh's screenplay is a true standout, balancing dark humour with thought-provoking themes. The film's unique setting on a remote and desolate island adds to the sense of isolation and loneliness that permeates the film. The performances by Farrell and Gleeson are outstanding and bring their characters to life in a raw and relatable way. Colin Farrell, in particular, was great as Padraic, capturing the nuance of his character's innocence and vulnerability.

The film's score and cinematography are also noteworthy, adding to the film's overall atmosphere. The score is haunting and evocative, while the cinematography captures the island's natural beauty in a serene and eerie way.

"The Banshees of Inisherin" is a truly unique film that will take audiences on an unexpected journey. With its dark humour, thought-provoking themes and outstanding performances by Colin Farrell.

6. The Fabelmans (2022)

Blog Post

Director: Steven Spielberg
Cast: Michelle Williams, Gabriel LaBelle, Paul Dano
Genre:Drama

My Take:

Last year many of the audience missed the decade's best musical romance, "West Side Story," to watch in theatres; I hope this movie does not get that treatment because of OTT platforms.

"The Fabelmans" is a must-watch for Steven Spielberg fans. As a massive fan of the director, I was excited to see a film that delves into the family and childhood that shaped him. And I was not disappointed. The film tells the fictionalized story of the Fabelman family, with a young Steven Spielberg stand-in as the protagonist. The film explores the complex relationships within the family and the struggles of artistic drive versus personal responsibility.

One standout aspect of the film is how it explores the mysterious nature of talent and the sacrifices one must make in pursuit of it. The film also delves into the theme of family and the complexities of being a parent and a child.

The film also includes a memorable and unique appearance of filmmaker David Lynch as the greatest film director ever, which is both funny and fitting for a movie about the art and craft of filmmaking.

"The Fabelmans" is a beautifully crafted and emotionally rich film that will resonate with Steven Spielberg fans. Steven masterfully crafted a fictional account of his own upbringing and the influences that shaped him as an artist.

7. Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie (2022)

Blog Post

Director: Seong-Hu Park
Cast: Chinatsu Akasaki, Chinatsu Akasaki, Kana Hanazawa, Show Hayami, Yu Hayashi
Genre: Action, Fantasy

My Take:

“Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie (2022) is a must-watch for fans of the JK series. The crisp combat scenes are by far the movie’s biggest strength, with each fight choreographed to perfection. The animation was top-tier, and I truly enjoyed watching this in the theatre. The film is a prequel to the main series, and it explores the origins of the Jujutsu Tech high school and the Jujutsu sorcerers.

Yuta Okkotsu, the main character, is fascinating to watch. He is a Jujutsu sorcerer who is also a cursed spirit. His story and motivations are well-developed, and it is fascinating to see how he becomes a powerful sorcerer from an innocent teenager. However, I wish there was more of Rika, a young girl and childhood friend of Yuta who only appears briefly in the movie, as it would have added more motivation for Yuta’s actions in the movie.

The film is directed by Sunghoo Park, a South Korean animation director known for his work on the anime series “Tower of God” and “The God of High School”.

All in all, Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie is an excellent addition to the Jujutsu Kaisen universe; it’s a solid prequel that provides essential background information for fans of the series while still being entertaining in its own right. However, some may find the lack of Rika’s character to be a deal breaker.

8. Close (2022)

Blog Post

Director: Lukas Dhont
Cast: Eden Dambrine, Gustav De Waele, Émilie Dequenne
Genre: Drama

My Take:

Close, the Belgian film released in 2022, is a powerful example of how a film can deliver an emotionally heavy and heart-wrenching story with less dialogue and more mystery. The film is directed and written by Lukas Dhont and follows the lives of two close friends, Léo and Rémi, as they navigate through the ups and downs of adolescence and their friendship.

The film opens with a beautiful depiction of the close bond between the two friends as they spend their summer days together, riding bikes and exploring the countryside. However, as they start their next level of schooling, their differences begin to surface, and their relationship is tested. Léo, who turns out to be a natural athlete, finds new friends and begins to push Rémi away, causing the once close friendship to unravel.

Despite the lack of dialogue, the young actors, Eden Dambrine as Léo and Gustav De Waele as Rémi, deliver powerful performances that perfectly capture the joy and sadness of their friendship. Their natural chemistry is a testament to the director’s skill and the casting process, and it’s clear that Dhont took great care in selecting actors who could bring his vision to life.

As the story progresses, the film takes a sharp turn and introduces a new element of mystery that adds an extra layer of complexity to the story. The relationships between the characters are revealed to be more complicated than they seem, and the audience is left to navigate the twists and turns of the story alongside the characters.

One of the standout elements of Close is how Dhont tells the story with fewer words but still manages to evoke powerful emotions. The film is emotionally heavy and, at times, heart-wrenching, but it never feels forced or overly sentimental. The power of the story is in its subtlety, and the audience is left to interpret the characters’ emotions through their actions and expressions.

The film is a testament to powerful storytelling, direction, and acting. It’s a rare film that can convey so much emotion with so little dialogue, and it’s a testament to the skills of the director and the young actors. Close is a must-watch for fans of emotionally heavy and thought-provoking films, and it’s a reminder that sometimes, less is more

9. The Quiet Girl (2022)

Blog Post

Director: Colm Bairad

Cast: Catherine Clinch, Carrie Crowley, Andrew Bennett

"The Quiet Girl" is a simple yet powerful movie that is a rare gem in today's fast-paced world of excessive visual effects and convoluted storylines. Directed by a first-time filmmaker, this heartwarming movie is a peaceful experience that will leave you feeling rejuvenated. The movie follows the story of a young girl who lives a solitary life in the countryside, surrounded by gorgeous landscapes.

One of the standout aspects of the movie is its beautiful cinematography. 10. Decision to leave (2022)

Blog Post

Director: Park Chan-wook

Cast: Park Hae-il, Tang Wei, Lee Jung-hyun

Genre: Drama, Mystery, Crime

My Take:

"Decision to Leave" is a seductive neo-noir film that delves into the world of illusions and conundrums. Directed by Park Chan-wook, known for creating elaborate plots in films like "The Handmaiden," the film follows police detective Jang Hae-Joon (Park Hae-il) as he investigates the mysterious death of a seasoned climber.

At its core, "Decision to Leave" is a love story between Hae-Joon and the deceased climber's wife, Song Seo-rae (Tang Wei), who becomes a suspect in the case. The film relies heavily on the chemistry and performances of its lead actors, Park Hae-il and Tang Wei, who bring nuance and depth to their characters.

Despite its alluring visuals and intricate sound design, the film's plot is somewhat predictable. The film's twists and turns can be anticipated, and some plot points lack a sense of surprise. However, it is worth mentioning that the film's direction, cinematography and sound design are top-notch.

"Decision to Leave" is a worthwhile watch for fans of Park Chan-wook's work and fans of the neo-noir genre. The film is a slow-burning yet engaging story that keeps you hooked until the end.

11. Thiruchitrambalam (2022)

Blog Post

Thiruchitrambalam (2022) is a heartwarming and relatable film that will resonate with audiences, mainly middle-class men. The film follows Thiru (Dhanush), who works as a delivery driver while living with his strict policeman father and sassy grandfather and is caught between two women, Anusha and Ranjani. 12. The Whale (2022)

Blog Post

Director: Darren Aronofsky

Cast: Brendan Fraser, Sadie Sink, Hong Chau

Genre: Drama

My Take:

"The Whale" is a poignant drama film directed by the acclaimed filmmaker, Darren Aronofsky, known for his previous works such as "Black Swan" and "The Wrestler." The movie features Brendan Fraser in a transformative role as a morbidly obese man, Charlie, who suffers from congestive heart failure. Based on the play by Samuel D. Hunter, the film tells a powerful story of love, redemption, and forgiveness.

The film's central character, Charlie, is an overweight man trying to accept his past mistakes and reconnect with his estranged daughter, Ellie, played by Sadie Sink. The story is set in a cramped second-floor apartment in Idaho, where Charlie lives with his friend Liz, a nurse played by Hong Chau, who provides him with emotional support.

The film's deep and complex characterization of the main characters is praiseworthy. Charlie's past relationship with his gay lover and Liz's relationship with her brother, who committed suicide, is portrayed with a deep understanding of human emotions and complexities. Fraser's portrayal of Charlie, a man eating himself to death, showcases his acting talent. The last thirty minutes of the film are particularly touching and emotional, and Brendan Fraser's performance is exceptional throughout.

"The Whale" is a touching and emotional drama showcasing Aronofsky's skilful direction and Fraser's talent as an actor. The film's themes of love, redemption, and forgiveness are explored with depth and sensitivity, and Fraser's brilliant performance is the best of the year and will be remembered.

13. Argentina, 1985 (2022)

Blog Post

Director: Santiago Mitre

Cast: Ricardo Darin, Gina Mastronicola, Francisco Bertn

Genre: Biography, Crime, Drama

My Take:

Argentina (1985) is a fascinating historical docudrama directed by Santiago Mitre and co-written by him and Ricardo Darin, who also plays the lead role of Julio Strassera. The film is Argentina's official entry for the Academy Awards and is a compelling exploration of a dark moment in the country's history.

The film centers on Strassera, a career prosecutor who is reluctantly forced into leading a war-crimes trial against former military leaders of the dictatorship that ruled from 1976 to 1983. This trial is the first major war crimes trial since Nuremberg and the first to be held in a civilian court.

As a foreigner who does not know the Argentine war, following the story can be hard at first, but Mitre's approach to the film is both understated and compelling, making it easier for the audience to grasp the story. The film's docudrama approach transitions from archival footage to historical re-enactments with ease, grounding the film with real-life details that make it feel authentic.

The court scenes were the highlight of the film, especially the ending, which was rousing and emotional. The film was a bit lengthy, but the length was necessary to explore the story fully. Darin's performance as Strassera was beautifully curmudgeon, and his reluctance to take on the job made the film more compelling. Ocampo's character played a good foil, as he was a believer in the righteousness and authority of the trial but also had to deal with a mother and family tied to the dictatorship.

Argentina 1985 (2022) is a critical rumination on the incremental way that justice is served. The film doesn't break new ground within the genre, but it's a fascinating re-enactment of a major historical moment in Argentina's history. The film is a testament to the bravery of the people who fought for justice despite their challenges.

14. The Northman (2022)

Blog Post

Director: Robert Eggers

Cast: Alexander Skarsgard, Nicole Kidman, Claes Bang, Ethan Hawke, Anya Taylor-Joy

Genre: Action, Drama

My Take:

The Northman is a movie that tells the story of a Viking prince who is out to avenge his father's death. The movie is a brutal and gory tale of vengeance set in the Viking age. The film is well-produced, with beautiful landscapes and practical locations that give the movie a sense of authenticity. The landscapes in the film are incredible, full of satisfyingly long takes that immerse the viewer in the world of the Vikings.

Northman is full of classic themes of betrayal and vengeance, and the story is not for everyone. The Northman may be disappointing if you've seen other Viking movies or TV series. The film is long, and some of the explicit and weird scenes can be hard to stomach for some viewers.

One of the most interesting facts about the movie is that it was shot on location in Iceland, which adds to the authenticity of the film. Iceland's landscapes and natural elements were used to great effect, and the movie is full of beautiful and breathtaking shots of the country. The movie also features a mix of Icelandic and Scandinavian actors, which adds to the film's realism.

Despite its flaws, The Northman is a movie that is worth watching for its incredible visuals. If you can handle the violence and gore, you will find a well-produced film full of beautiful landscapes, great use, and satisfyingly long takes. But it is not for those looking for a traditional Viking movie, and at times it feels long, and some explicit and strange scenes are hard to watch.

15. Tar (2022)

Blog Post

Director: Todd Field

Cast: Cate Blanchett, Noemie Merlant, Nina Hoss, Sophie Kauer

Genre: Drama

My Take:

"Tar" is a movie that is both thought-provoking and ambitious but also suffers from some issues. The film's screenplay is written very thoughtfully, delving into the character of Tar and exploring this individual's complexities. Cate Blanchett plays the role of Tar with great depth and nuance, delivering a powerful and memorable performance. Her portrayal of this character is absolutely captivating and brings to life the internal struggles and motivations of the character.

However, the film's biggest weakness is its length. At times it feels like the movie drags on and could have been shorter and more focused. The pacing is uneven, and sometimes it can be pretty slow. This might make it difficult for some viewers to maintain interest for the full duration of the film.

Despite these issues, the film is still worth watching for Blanchett's performance and for the way it explores the character of Tar and the themes it touches on, like human emotions and desire, relationships, and the impact of memories and experiences on shaping an individual's personality. The movie also features great cinematography, bringing the story to life visually strikingly.

"Tar" is a thought-provoking and ambitious film worth watching for its powerful performances, particularly Cate Blanchett's, and the screenplay's nuanced characterization of the main character. However, its length and slow pace can make it a tedious watch for some.

16. Bullet Train (2022)

Blog Post

Director: David Leitch

Cast: Brad Pitt, Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry

Genre: Action, Thriller, Comedy

My Take:

The Bullet Train is the latest action-thriller from director David Leitch, known for his work on films such as John Wick, Atomic Blonde, and Deadpool 2. The film stars Brad Pitt as a hitman who finds himself on a high-speed train in Japan, along with a group of other hitmen, all with their own reasons for being there.

One of the things that stands out most in The Bullet Train is the incredible action choreography and stunts. Leitch has always been known for his ability to create thrilling and visually stunning action sequences, and this film is no exception. The fight scenes on the train are incredibly well-done, with a level of intensity and style that makes them all the more thrilling to watch.

The film also features a strong cast of characters, all with their own motivations and secrets. Brad Pitt's character is particularly interesting, as he is forced to confront his past and his own moral code.

The Japanese setting of the film is also a standout aspect. Using the train as a backdrop adds extra tension to the film, and the locations and scenery are breathtaking. The film also features a number of Japanese actors and actresses, including Joey King and Masi Oka.

The Bullet Train is a thrilling and visually stunning action movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat; I had so much fun watching this. The Japanese backdrop was fantastic, and the action is incredible, well-shot, and precise, which is no surprise coming from the guy who directed John Wick and Deadpool 2. Bullet Train is a fun and escapable action movie that is perfect for those looking to escape from heavy storylines and franchise movies.

17. Aftersun (2022)

Blog Post

Director: Charlotte Wells

Cast: Paul Mescal, Frankie Corio

Genre: Drama

My Take:

Aftersun is a rare film that tells a story about memory and the relationship between a father and daughter. The movie, directed and written by Charlotte Wells, is set in a Turkish beach resort in the late 1990s and follows the story of Calum (played by Paul Mescal) and his daughter Sophie (Frankie Corio) as they spend their vacation together. Wells had described her first film as "emotionally autobiographical," as her own father passed away when she was 16, which is hinted at throughout the film.

Mescal, known for his role in the hit series Normal People, gives a soulful and nuanced performance as Calum, a young father struggling with his place in the world and his role as a parent. His acting feels incredibly real and authentic. Corio, who plays Sophie, is a precious talent, and her performance is both endearing and heartbreaking. The chemistry between Mescal and Corio is particularly noteworthy, as it feels like a real father-and-daughter relationship on screen.

Another aspect of the film that stands out is the use of vibrant colours. The sun-soaked light and beautiful Turkish landscapes add to the dreamlike quality of the film and enhance the overall atmosphere of nostalgia and memory. The use of home-video camcorder footage, shot by the characters, is incredibly effective and plays on our nostalgia of once capturing brief moments of our lives on tiny tapes.

The story of Aftersun is an impressionistic one, grounded in feeling rather than narrative, that tells a simple story about memory, family, and the relationship between a father and daughter, but it does it in a way that is both profound and emotionally resonant. The performances, particularly from Paul Mescal and Frankie Corio, are outstanding, and the use of vibrant colours and home-video footage adds to the film's dreamlike atmosphere.

18. Apollo 10 ½: A Space Age Childhood (2022)

Blog Post

Director: Richard Linklater

Cast: Milo Coy, Jack Black, Lee Eddy, Bill Wise

Genre: Adventure, Drama, Animation

My Take:

"Apollo 10 1/2: A Space Age Childhood" is a nostalgic and charming film that takes us on a journey through the eyes of a young boy growing up in Houston during the height of the space race. Directed by the talented Richard Linklater, this film is a unique and memorable addition to the coming-of-age genre, capturing the joy and wonder of childhood in a simple yet powerful story.

The movie is set in the summer of 1969; follows the story of Stan, a 10-year-old boy who dreams of being recruited for a "space camp" by NASA. His father, a frugal but caring man, has moved his family to a newly built suburban development in the shadow of the Astrodome and Astroworld amusement parks. As Stan navigates the challenges of growing up, he is constantly surrounded by the excitement and wonder of the space race, which permeates every aspect of his life.

The animation is a leap from Linklater's previous work in the rotoscope style of "Waking Life" and "A Scanner Darkly." The animation in "Apollo 10 1/2" is clean and vivid and perfectly captures the era's nostalgia. The film also features period-specific TV footage and home movies curated from an open call within the Houston area, adding to the story's authenticity.

One of the film's highlights is its portrayal of the political instability of the era, as seen through the eyes of a child. For kids in the suburbs, it all seems like the world is happening through the lens of the TV screen and that an assassination, a war, an uprising, and everything else is happening elsewhere in the world. Linklater acknowledges that some outspoken figures were more concerned with problems on earth, in the inner city than space exploration.

In true Richard Linklater fashion, the film is infused with optimism and a desire to tell a story of hard work, dedication, and healthy childhood fantasy. The film may be Linklater's warmest and most nostalgic precisely because of its specifics. "Apollo 10½: A Space Age Childhood" is a hidden gem in the world of 2022 films; it manages to be both nostalgic and thought-provoking, capturing the joys and struggles of growing up in a unique and memorable way.

19. Elvis (2022)

Director: Baz Luhrmann
Cast: Tom Hanks, Austin Butler, Austin Butler
Genre: Biography, Drama, Music

My Take:

20. Babylon (2022)

Blog Post

Director: Damien Chazelle

Cast: Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Diego Calva, Jean Smart

Genre: Drama, Comedy, History

My Take:

Babylon (2022) tells the story of the black-and-white film era fantastically and nostalgic. Directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Damien Chazelle, the film was shot on film, giving it a classic and timeless feel that is sure to please film lovers.

Once again, Justin Hurwitz's jazz soundtrack stands out for the film like he did with La La Land and Whiplash films. It perfectly captures the energy and excitement of the time period. The music is an integral part of the film, adding to the atmosphere and helping to transport viewers back to the 1920s.

The theatre experience of Babylon is truly great, with the film's large and elaborate sets, along with its intricate costume designs and detailed cinematography, making it an immersive and engaging viewing experience.

Babylon is a film that tells the story of the early days of Hollywood when the film industry started to take off from silent films to sound, and African American filmmakers were fighting for recognition and respect.

For fans of film history and the golden era of Hollywood, Babylon is worth the watch. With its beautiful shot-on-film visuals, eccentric jazz soundtrack, and engaging performances, the film is an unforgettable and enjoyable experience for anyone who loves the art of filmmaking. However, for the general audience, the film might be too lengthy and crowded, with many different storylines and characters to keep track of.
